Civil construction projects which fall under the civil engineering faculty revolves around the design, planning, coordination, construction, and post construction maintenance of all infrastructure of a region. This includes among others roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, airports, dams, harbours and other small or large-scale public works which without are essential towards a functional, active and healthy society.

Civil construction projects are mostly flanked by infrastructure that are essential for economic development and more often than not these projects involve weighty financial investments and as well as technical expertise. The correlation between civil construction projects, economic development and the wellbeing of the general population is interlinked in many ways and in this brief, we will examine the role of civil construction projects towards the general population of a geographic region.
